php mailer sender ID test
Posted by: shad0w7

Just experimenting with a php mailer I uploaded and I sent a message to my hotmail address with a from address of my choice. It went straight to junk and failed the sender ID test and was marked as "potentially dangerous", even though I just put "test" as subject and message body.Is it possible to get past this,and is it only possible with a massmailer? If so, what smtp server should I use, as all the previous ones I've used with a mailer program keep giving errors.

please check the header of your email and look for the first sender header.
It was blocked due to unkown hostname, hotmail also checks where the mail came from if the sender header is @IP Address then it will surely be considered as SPAM, since most of the antispam filtering now a days automatically blocks mail that doesn't contain correct header information.

By the way you can bypass it by using another mailer like sendmail.

1) Create a txt file containing your message (ie)
From:
To:
Date:
Subject

<BODY>

then send it using sendmail.

Sendmail will not add the sender header but instead it will use the relays header as its senders header.

Hope you got what I mean
