CAPTCHA ABC 123
Posted by: id

Slashdot had an interesting article on CAPTCHAs. Which leads me to believe I could write a program for kindergardners which helps them learn their ABC 123s and spam for me...

it seems in america, the same CAPTCHA solving .60/hr job goes for 8.50/hr ..

No wonder outsourcing is all the rage lately.

I spent some serious time thinking about the implications of starting an outsourced CAPTCHA solving team. The economics don't make sense for even fairly high profile sites, because typically the reason you're solving CAPTCHAs is to spam and spam is rarely profitable at the rates required to hire outsourced CAPTCHA solvers.

Step 1. Write educational software for teaching preschoolers ABCs
Step 2. Add backend that connects to spam server
Step 3. Kids decode CAPATCHAs in real time
Step 4. Underpants
Step 5. Profit!

Funny, but why (other than the humor in it), when you can have full grown literate men do it for free via a porn proxy for CAPTCHAs? Bewm!

Meanwhile since you can't detect if it's right or wrong you'll be telling all the preschoolers that anything they enter is correct. It might be an interesting application to write a desktop tool to pop up a CAPTCHA on people's desktops so they can help robots do spam. Not sure how many people would want to help spammers but it could be pretty easy to set up.

it would also be possible to setup a proxy program that injects captchas into the forms that people view when surfing.. then extracts it from requests they send from those pages

probably best to keep it in the neighborhood of 20-30% of all the forms.. and probably not in forms like Search, one's without type=text inputs, etc.

not as easy as a porn CAPTCHA .. but potentially headless - which is always a nice feature for bots/trojans

Eesh... you're exactly right. I hadn't thought about that for use with trojans. Scary thought. But in the end they still have to either communicate with a parent process/command process that told it what to do with the solved CAPTCHAs and where to retrieve them (I guess that could be over IRC or something).

it's just an idea (that i've first heard from Rsnake, dunno about anyone before) to make a free pron image site.. but in order to view the images.. you have to enter a CAPTCHA. That captcha is a copy of one pulled from wordpress comments forms for example. So when they answer the CAPTCHA for you, you can proceed to spam in the intarnet - CAPTCHAs or not.

Guys looking to beat their meat and tempted with the promises of pics of nude women, will be more than happy to enter the captchas

So i should've more accurately said, 'a pron, CAPTCHA solver'..

rsnake: ya, that's why i decided to add the word 'potentially'. if you already know what spam messages you want to spam with (i.e. some pre-made ones) .. you can include those within the trojan.. along with a function to spider the web and seek out target people/sites to spam and download those captchas. With pre-made ones, it could be headless - although i'm sure they'd atleast add a backdoor function to allow updating the messages/spider

headless should keep the bots alive considerably longer - curse that pesky internet storm center

You can also create an online game that forces the player to insert the CAPTCHA if he wants to play or to register himself.

The ABC123 game idea would work because you can take their input, put it in the and then return true/false if it has worked. Just need a few seconds after every round to "tally the score."

Ah, now that is a good idea! I love it. You could even create a little timer to make it "fun". Have a bonus round, see how many you can do in 1 minute correctly and you double your points! Fun fun fun!

About the porn captcha, that's already done >.>

Some 'bad' Russian organisation used spiders to make online transactions. Then captcha was invented. That was quite fucked up for them. They made a porn website, where everyone could download porn movies. But for every download, they had to solve a captcha.

Now I believe they solve around 40 captcha's a minute.

Yup, I think the first time I saw that was bout 3-4 years ago. Not widely used yet, but I expect that to change over time since it's super easy to do.

can you imagine how those ABC 123 kids will read and write when they grow up?

after seeing hundreds of letters and numbers in weird shapes and positions, twisted all over the place and with strange backgrounds, they'll be so confused they'll end up illiterates... It'll be like returning to stone age!

Porn Captcha is old trick, it don't get entry fast enough and does cost to maintain the bandwidth, etc.. The newer trick works better, could easily hit 1k~2k entry per hour that is much faster than human and of course it is free of cost. But still nothing beat an OCR decoder.
