What would you do

Okay, so I was doing some freelance php work for this guy, thinking from the start that he was going to rip me off, but not really caring because I could use the script I was making elsewhere and it wasn't that much programming(like 2 hrs of work). Since I have a reseller hosting account, I provided hosting for the project.

Now I expected to get ripped off sometime during the selling of the website. But instead the guy changed the CPanel password and is letting some new random guy work on the site for him.

Neither of them know that I am a reseller and have full access to the account whenever I want, regardless of the password. And again, I'm not really angry or anything, the hosting is free to me, and the work basically was to, I just wanna mess with this guy. Heres what I've thought about doing.

-Deleting the hosting account right now.

-Waiting till the current programmer finishes the site, then steal all the code.

-Waiting till they decide to sell the site, and right before they sell it, delete all the code

-Place a php file inside that will unlink() all of the files, wait till the site has sold, and run the script on the buyers sever.

-Go in each night and edit crucial scrips by deleting semi-colons and adding brackets, so the programmer uploads a perfectly good working script, then wakes up the next morning to find it not working, with no clue why.

I figured you guys would have better ideas than what I could come up with, so any insight/ideas on what to do here would be cool.

Also, I know this is probably in the wrong forum, but Im not really sure where to put it.

It happened to me once, the guy lockup up everything, ftp, admin etc. But, he is a little stupid and forgot to lockdown the database ^^ So, after a few weeks when the tables we're filled and no backup was made, I end up in deleting all the tables corresponding to the work I had made. He could start all over again. Maybe not so diplomatic, but when someone starts to fuck with me, he can expect the full load, plus some extra incentive e-mail to never do that again. He's lucky that I leave it at that. I'm a nice guy, but some friends of me are not.

But hey, it's up to you. Guess some will think to let it pass, and go on with your life, my take on it is to bring the flame back.

I had the same thing happen to me once when I was doing a site for a "friend". Said he'd pay me for doing it denied ever saying it afterwards. I didn't end up fucking with him to bad. (just deleted the site & backups). After a few months tho I heard his webhost got rooted and his host blamed him. Karmas a bitch.

I never did find out how he did in court.

er...wait, I don't live in Michigan anymore.

Seriously though, lets not discuss plotting to do illegal things until we buy sealand, and host from there.

Besides, when doing work for *anyone* you should have a contract that clearly explains both sides obligations and is signed!

Feel free to discuss what you might do for a movie plot though...

Here is the perfect solution

As his is beginning to sell the site. Add a php script that can detect his and his developers ip range and when it is found return the site as normal, however when their ip range isn't detected return goatse.

For some reason, I went to the "Extremely don't-look unfriendly info"... Reminded a lot of the first time someone tricked me into tub girl.

As it turns out, Im upgrading servers, and don't have access to the domain to upgrade the DNS... So I'm just going to delete the account (in the play) and then play the "stupid sysadmin" when he asks where his site went.

That can be a huge rush kozanaybar: Like having the power in hands, but never use it. Still you have it, so on any given moment you can use it.
