Security Operations Vulnerability Analyst - Socal, Chi-town
Posted by: Jeff Combs

My client is a global information solutions company whose entire business is based on the availability and integrity of data. Given that Information Security is core to their business they've built an internal Security Operations Capability. The company has SOCs in Dallas, Costa Mesa and Chicago (Schaumburg) and they're looking for three people each in Costa Mesa and Schaumburg.

The positions are:

Tier 1 Security Operations Analyst - the eyes on the screen, validating raw events and acting as the first line of defense. $70-$90K base + bonus

Tier 2 Security Operations Analyst - confirms the Tier 1s findings, works the case, escalates to CIRT, partners with CIRT, and configures/tunes the dashboards
$80-$100K base + bonus

Tier 3 Security Operations Analyst - hands off but always thinking, looking at the bigger picture of emerging threats and vulnerabilities, identifies new threats and creates methodologies to detect and address them, works with other security and technology teams as a representative of the Security Operations team.
$100-$120K base + bonus + relocation assistance

Tier 3- PLUS - same as above but somebody who wants to manage Sec Ops teams.

Reasons why you'd want to work here: read intro summary, because the company just completed a technology refresh (ie: cool toys and tools) because there is a training budget, because this is a place where anomaly detectors, puzzle solvers and analytical security sleuths will get to do exactly what they were born for.

If you're interested in talking about this please send your resume and contact info to

Thanks for your consideration,
