Looking for people who are able to hack/ track and investigate certain websites, selling counterfeit/ infringing products online and able to reveal evidence/ information on the person(s)/ group behind the specific websites.

Able to work from home.

No special skills required, as long as you can track them down ;-)

Its either a yes or a no. This whole thing sounds shady to me. 'supposed' law enforcement asking for help on this forum, using a hotmail account, and has no other means of 'tracking' these people but to ask members on this site to 'hack'. Very shady indeed...

I know (coming from ex-law enforcement)...that any LE agency wouldn't post a wanted ad in a forum on the internet looking for someone to conduct forensic analysis and computer crime investigation into criminal activities. Yeah that is what I was thinking, that would be a dumb idea. I mean what if the people you were investigating turned out to be the forensic analysts or knew them.

let me put it in a clear and thrill way, so you can understand the fuss.

firstly, if we accept the assumption that you effectively *are* what you say, you are totally fucking up your recruitment. one wouldn't walk up a police bar to ask random people if they feel like doing some cleaning for the local don. no ?

secondly, if you were to find interested people here, or elsewhere, and once you have conducted prelimary information on him/her, do not *ever* *ever* show the fucking relationship between you and your would be operative. for fuck's sake, even more on a google index forum. if you were to talk more seriously with somebody, keep it out of band, with PGP signed/encrypted emails via disposable address, having to link with you two. even if we didn't care for ethics, in the course of your job, you would break so many laws in so many country that you want *at least* make investigation difficult.

thirdly, and in general, you do not want to do the first recruitement, inexperienced people in the field are caught, period. if they are caught, and due to your evident inexperience in recruitment, you will be caught. work with professionals damn !

Meh. I think he's a private investigator. At least that's what I'm understanding from making a half-assed attempt to learn what he's all about.

Basically, it's only social engineering and light investigative work to determine who is behind some websites that are offering fake watches and other products. Not even worth the cheap payoff he was offering per website. :)

I would agree that he's most likely a private investigator trying to run some kind of Media Sentry deal.

Unfortunately he's making a lot of assumptions... this is more or less gray hat stuff. Probably the biggest one is that he / his guy(s) won't get caught. If you're not asking for any experience, you'll end up caught. Unless you're lucky.
