Contest! Who am I?
Posted by: Jizzabel
Date: April 11, 2007 02:29PM

I have always considered myself pretty web savvy, never given my real name or address online apart from making purchases.
I reckon nobody can link my online persona to the real me. Can you do it?
There will be a prize for the person who reveals the most information about me, I don't know what, maybe your own domain name or something.
You must obviously reveal how you found the information!

A good first try, but I have never used the name Jizzabel anywhere apart from here though.
Maybe a search on my IP?

Anyone interested this is a test of how anonymous I really am.
I'm sure you'd all like to know.
And the prize is real, I'm not sure how much it's worth, probably $200 in your american currency

Give me your IP Jizzabel, then we talk further. It's sad I removed the spade image in my sig, otherwise it would be trivial to get your IP. I do have it in my serverlogs, but I'm a TON lazy right now to sift through it.

in the mean time I guess this:

- Your age is around 30-40
- You are british or possibly australian because of some native slang you use.
- You like to knit, and search knitpatterns online.
- And you visit the following sites often:
www.b3ta.com
www.fat-pie.com
johnny.ihackstuff.com
maddox.xmission.com
postsecret.blogspot.com

I could be dead wrong, but that's what i'm guessing so.

My current IP is 62.30.249.130. It changes every so often, I am on broadband.
I won't comment on every one of your guesses jungsonn or it would be just a yes/no game. I am british but I didn't realise I used british slang! Cor blimey govner!

Well doing a quick reference search on Google for your IP I see you have an affinity for Handbags. I also found out you are really a Black female, 14 years old, and Canadian. Man I love Google.

Hope this information helps.

GeoIP says the first IP address was in Halifax, the new one is Reading. That's quite a distance but traceroute confirms that GeoIP identified the regions correctly. Both are regular dialup IPs, so unless you have a botnet you don't try to disguise yourself. Have you been traveling?

PS: I think RSnake (and any web site you are visiting) has far more information on you. User agent string is a particularly interesting one but there are more headers that your browser transmits that might be interesting.

The one request to sites I control today with that IP are as follows:
82.5.202.218 - - [15/Apr/2007:11:28:55 -0700] "HEAD /lofiversion/index.php?f12.html HTTP/1.1" 200 399 "http://www.google.com/search?q=firefox+linkchecker" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3"

Certainly not a normal request.

WhiteAcid, I only have a request from the same subnet, not the same IP:
82.5.202.178 - - [15/Apr/2007:00:39:54 +0200] "GET /............ HTTP/1.1" 200 3187 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3"

Hmm... I tried the indirect approach... I suppose I am not allowed to use the email address that you registered with. Or is that a hacked account?

One need a few things indeed, a minimum:

- Static IP (at best)
- Emailaddress (at least)
- Possibly UA string. (could help)

Too difficult, but not impossible. If you have an dynamic IP and never used the name "Jizzabel" anywhere before like you said. It is almost as hard for me to guess the name of your neighbour.

We've already established that you're in the UK. You're using Virgin Media for access...but that could either be you (broadband to home) or some hotspot who uses it (I can't tell if Virgin has their own wireless hotspot network service, like T-Mobile). Even though NTL and Telewest/Blueyonder are all Virgin Media, I find it highly unlikely that you'd DHCP a Telewest address one day and a NTL address the next...ISPs usually merge in name, not in network. So potentially you're hot-spotting or using cafe's. An aggregate of all your IPs used on this board, and how many posts you made from each, would probably narrow down which is likely to be your main/home IP range...but that's information only the admins have.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while.
My isp was NTL which is now Virgin. I check my IP often to see if the proxies I am using are leaking any information. Tracerout on my real IP has placed me all over the UK including Watford, Wokingham, London and Ireland. I'm not sure why.
The email I used to sign up to Slackers is neither my email or real name.
My IP is still 82.5.202.218. You have my permission to scan it for vulnerabilities.
If you are unable to find out my name and address, placing of a text file on my desktop detailing how you did it will secure the prize.

Well, your User-Agent is "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3", with no other unusual headers (full header list is below). p0f has this to say about you:

82.5.202.218:62753 - Windows 2000 SP2+, XP SP1+ (seldom 98)
Signature: [8192:114:1:48:M1460,N,N,S:.]
-> 65.254.53.92:80 (distance 14, link: ethernet/modem)

The fact that p0f comes back as Windows means it's pretty likely you're directly connected to the Internet via a cable modem in bridge mode, with no NAT/firewall device between you and the Internet. So any firewalling/protection is likely to be in software form on your desktop.

You have the fortune of having an ISP that doesn't display much info on a whois query; just be happy you don't use SBC, like RSnake does (see
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?ip=75.10.41.225). I sure hope that's not his SBC account number. ;)
