More or less it is a fax machine yes. In fact, it's so much just a fax machine that the only difference is it has an email address to fax front end application that must translate it into a fax. But if the baby boomers start using stuff like this it might open a series of war-dialing sprees. I wonder if it has any security build into the fax at all so you can't just spoof emails that spool.

Spammer and phishers. If it looks and acts and smells like your bank, why wouldn't it be? It's hard to do forensics on a piece of paper.
