UTM in a wireless router

Dudes, please check out my router firmware project at [packetprotector.org].

It's built on top of OpenWrt and provides IPS, web AV, and content filtering features.

Any feedback would be appreciated (constructive, profane, whatever).

Holla at your boy,
Charlie

Do we have to use a flash drive? Can we use a USB hard drive? To prevent wearing down of the drive.

Yes, you can use a USB hard drive as long as the PacketProtector files are on the first partition and it's FAT or EXT3.

K good, that was the main drawback when I read about it and the flash drive's eventual failure.

Agreed, very cool... are you going to build a web based interface into it? You could probably market it if you did.

If I'm correct it already has a web ui since its using open-wrt as its basecode.

Yeah, I've extended the OpenWrt web interface to do some basic management of the security services. It's pretty much limited to toggling features off/on and viewing the logs.

Here's a screenshot-
