Which is better and which is the most secure.
I go for Opera myself.
Its faster and more secure than anything else.

Firefox is more secure with the right extensions, but if FF didn't have extensions, I'd probably use Opera.

Which extensions can make it more secure and what do they do?

SafeBrowsing helps, as does HttpOnly, I don't know if there is an equivalent for Opera.

It depends what you mean with "secure".
The browsing itself or the browser itself?

Opera has often less security holes than FireFox,
so that should make it more a secure browser.

Still Opera doesn't do it for me.

@rsnake: No love for NoScript?
@jungsonn: All of the PoC exploits that I've seen for Firefox won't work with NoScript on, which is why I generally only keep sites whitelisted that I fully trust, or pages that just look really shitty with it disabled like different news sites.

I tried noscript for a while, but I didn't like it... I ended up settling on quickjava which gives me better/faster granularity. If someone fixed noscript to be less annoying and more granular I'd probably use that, but I _LOATH_ the automatic popup at the bottom part of the screen that happens by default. That right there had me groaning since that's just about the most annoying way to surf - getting popups every page you go to. Yes, I could have turned it off, but why when I have quickjava right there begging to be played with? So no, no love for noscript. Not today. And if you wrote it, I apologize in advance.
