OK, the October challenge is closed and we have at least two really cool effects. Be sure to join the conference mailinglist (https://lists.owasp.org/mailman/listinfo/appsec_eu_2010) if you want to know how this challenge ends _and_ hear about the coming challenges.

Slightly OT, NoScript's interference with timeouts in bookmarklet is fixed in 1.9.9.15.
Thanks SDC for reporting.

The winner is posted, congratulations sdc!
John/Manjit official post below :

The winner of the AppSec Research 2010 October Challenge is (... drumroll ...) FireworksIsNotABrowser_v4 (although we like the slightly oversized v6 better)! Runner-up is TommyM_3D_Wave_v1.1. Thanks for all the hard work, guys! Can "sirdarckcat" please email me?

OC votes for FireworksIsNotABrowser_v4:
"The fireworks crack me up"
"Who doesn’t like fireworks?"
"For creative use of the existing images on the site and the good taste to mimic the fireworks competitions traditionally held at the Stockholm Water Festival during the 90's."
"Shows that XSS vulnerabilities may blow your site up in surprising ways =)"
"Simply the most innovative one"
"Exploding fireworks is cool"
"The coolest"
"The submission is playful and amusing and yet it demonstrates the cleverness in the modern web."

OC votes for TommyM_3D_Wave_v1.1:
"Rotating cubes is old-school. That's always cool. Perhaps not extremely original, but still a worthy winner (they both are)."
"I vote for the rotating cubes because they bring back sweet memories. Would have loved to see the OWASP letters inside the cubes though."

EDIT: Posted the draft-version of this mail, but the content was basically the same. Corrected my mistsake now, though.
