Web page diff

Hey guys, have any of you ever used any tools that allow you to remotely track changes to a web page?

I am trying to set up an automated system that will monitor our website and alert us as soon as changes are detected. Thus far I haven't found any tools (that are properly named at least [ie. http-trac, page-monitor,etc..])

Thanks!

You could simply create some sort of hash for each page based upon the html and then run that check periodically. That would work, but might be a lot of overheard for what you are looking for.

(ú=(θ='',[µ=!(Φ=!θ+{})+θ,Θ=Φ[ø=+!θ]+Φ[+θ],ĩ=µ[ø],Ø=µ[º=ø+++ø],Ç=Φ[º+ø],à=ú[Φ[º+º]+Φ[+θ]+Ç+ĩ]][Ø+Ç+Θ])())[ĩ+à('•êí')](Ç+à('Á«)'))

@CM - standalone.. to do remote monitoring to make sure our 'static' pages don't suddenly become someone's XSS heaven..

@Matt - yeah.. "wget <site> > newfile && diff oldfile newfile" would work, but I'm too lazy to write the 'if' statement to email me if it finds changes.. heh..

Use Dapper and select the content area you suspect to change - then generate a RSS from it and subscribe. Done.

@.mario - We want this to be an in-house type thing.. I'll just write a simple shell script to do this.. :)

@AnDrEw - That is the type of tool I had in mind, but it is nice to know that someone already wrote it, and that it is freely available.
