What if sport stars were treated like tech people...

I was going to post this in Jobs, but since it's more of a rant of mine, I figured I'd post it here...

Yesterday while watching the SF Giants beat Washington for the 3rd straight day, a funny thought occurred to me; what if sport stars got treated the same way tech people do??

So in my mind I started working on a "req" that (in my world) would get posted to craigslist, and it would look something like this:

*~*~*~*~*~ Super Star Short Stop Needed!!! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~

5-7 years as a full time short stop for a contending team.
Must have own bats and other equipment, we provide jersey only.
Absolutely required you pass a full physical before beginning employment.
Must be a team player!!!!

Commensurate with experience.
Range between $60,000/year to $120,000/year.
Bonuses will be paid when we damn well feel like paying them.
2 weeks of PTO time per year.
Discounted family/friends tickets to every game!!

If you are over the age of 25, you need not apply. We are looking for a Super Star (without the Super Star Salary).

Of course, those in the front office would get the 10million dollar a year, multi-year contracts, you know, just like things are right now in Corporate America..

Needless to say, it made me chuckle.. hope it did the same for you.. :)

It is not the degrees you hold, but the mind you possess. - thrill
