Hey I'm just stopping by to say hello!

I love the blog and the forums, great source of information!

I'm not sure if I can post a link to my personal blog, but since it's somehow related to the topic of web security I'm going to post it, if I'm not supposed to... Just tell me and I'll delete the link

Title: busin3ss > spam 2.0
URL: http://busin3ss.name/

Thanks a lot, and keep the full disclosure going ;)

Fukken Saved! I like your site. I'm not really into generating a profit from my own site so I won't be shelling out the cash to join BlackHat SEO any time soon, but I like your site, and the concepts you present.

Bizzare.... is it just coincidence? I saw your link today: http://busin3ss.name/xss-crash-course-part-i

Very good high level overview. I've been getting more and more into blackhat SEO, from both a monetization as well as combating (specifically the spam part since it's of personal annoyance when it affects me personally) perspective. Welcome to the forums. It's always nice to have blackhat SEO types around.

Thanks for the welcome.

It's good that you are getting more and more into BH SEO, because you can't fight what you don't know.

And sometimes I get annoyed by spam too, that's why I'm constantly trying to increase the quality of my spam (Is there such a thing?)

It's a crazy personal concept that I like to call "spam 2.0" :)

I'm totally n00b on BH-SEO, can you really get a higher pagerank or something like that with some tricks?

Anyway, Not that I care about that, I rather have Google and others sniffing someplace else, I have thought of blocking Google al the way it's so annoying when it loads 80 pages in a few seconds and comes back after 1 hour to scrape some more and fouling up my clean stats :) Yahoo is terrible if it comes it reloads the page from different nodes and clog my stats.

Don't know yet, but I really don't care about my site in the serach engines, I also never dit SE optimization or stuff like that.

EDIT: Its weird if you say in meta tags: revisit after 7 days the spider just ignores that.

Yeah I think I go do that, gonna block those search engines.

Well it's the approach you have when you spam. For example a lot of people use markov chains to create unique content from article databases or scraped content from other blogs for example. For a spider markov'ed text looks unique, and it doesn't get penalized like duplicated content, but it's not legible to human beings. Why create trash unique content when you could take a wikipedia article, parse it and remove all the extra stuff wikipedia adds, change a percentage of the words by their synonyms, explode(".", $wikipedia) so you can shuffle the order a bit and that's it. It does the same thing, and instead of having a zillion illegible pages, you can have a zillion pages that doesn't look that spammy.

For example take a look at this site:
http://articleomatic.info

My spam sites look somewhat like that

Well BH is not about increasing your PageRank, in fact who cares about PageRank ;) ?

I don't see the point of blocking spiders...

Interesting. I've thought about doing similar things in the past, but I always get caught up in one example where African American = black but black != African American. Case in point:

Do you attempt to get around this sort of issue or is it not worth worrying about?

Yes, it was very much a mistake, but a very real problem with blind pattern replacement - not understanding the context of words is problematic with this sort of thing.

Well as I've said I'm not really into SEO mostly as I've promised myself I'd never bombard my visitors with advertisements, but I do find these concepts to be interesting. In that respect why not have a script look for key-terms, and then search for associated phrases for those key-terms before generating the final output? I'm on the Wii right now (I'm always on either the Wii or my computer), so I can't write a short example in anything but pseudocode because it'd take too long to type. It's a rough example, but it's for the general jist.
If "id" is found in the article then
If "jailbait", "beer", and "grandma pr0n" is found in the article then output the article about id
Otherwise:
Article's about identification and not sla.ckers.org's resident fetish-haver.

That's hilarious...

Unfortunately I can't code something that understand the context of a text ;(

Let's get back to this content raping idea as I find it quite interesting, and would like to create a rough example of some way to check the context of articles. How does the first script normally work? Do you first receive what the user is searching for, and then call the article, or does it randomly rape an article first for you to use?
