Has anyone ever thought of making one? http://www.wireless.org.au/~jhecker/helix/ is a link to a site where they actually give you the ingredients to build an antenna that could boost your wireless capabilities. Just thought it might be interesting.

unfortunately that router is not the most popular with 3rd party firmware. I use the WRTSL54GS which is part of the WRT series which kicked off opensource 3rd party firmware for Linksys routers. By the looks of it your router runs Linux too, not sure how much memory it has but depending on how new the model is it may well one day have its own firmware project. Good luck on the signal boosting.

http://www.thibor.co.uk/ will allow you to boost the signal. Its what I use but be careful increasing it too much can cause damage to the hardware without proper cooling. More firmware is at http://www.linksysinfo.org/

The only thing you could do is possibly modify the firmware of the router to try to increase the power output, though depending on where you live could make operating it illegal. You should be able to unsolder the existing antenna in the router and solder back on a better one though. Or dependant on your router, you could just unscrew the antenna and stick a new one on.
