My browser world has come crashing down.

Firefox now takes less RAM than Opera on my computer.
Even with several common extensions, FasterFox, Web dev, NoteFish and Greasemonkey, (All in Opera btw.)...it takes less. WITH PLUGINS OFF IN OPERA...it takes less. Ugh. I'm not sure if it's my Opera install or Firefox2 being good. At any rate, I'm scared.

That's cool.
It's strange i don't know why FF is so slow starting up here, i have IE on 2 wine bottles on Ubuntu, and MSIE is faster -even with the bottles- then FF. got me puzzled. :)

On FreeBSD FF 2.0 is at least 2x as fast as 1.5, not sure why, but it responds way faster, though it might be me compiling it with a few more optimizations...dunno, but I am happy

For me firefox eats around 38mb and a fresh install of opera uses 18mb. Opening a crap load of tabs with a crap load of images in each tab of course increases that to several 100mb.

Most of the time FF eats a 100MB on my pc, i dunno but i find FF rather slow and is really slow at starting up. The extentions should not matter in FF, cause there only active when invoked into the chrome. how much RAM does each eat at yours?
